GR Taiwan works with multinational businesses, non-profit organizations and other entities who are looking to understand the business and policy environment and deliver societal impact in Taiwan. We come in to ensure effective government relations and deliver public affairs strategies that help our clients meet their objectives.

Our team leverages established networks of contacts throughout government,  political parties, media, business and academia. We are politically neutral and enjoy excellent working relations across the political spectrum.

Jakob Edberg
Jakob Edberg
Representative Director

Jakob Edberg is co-founder of The GR Company and has over two decades of direct experience in politics and policy-making. Prior to co-founding The GR Company, Jakob was Policy Director at the European Business Council in Japan, where he supervised government outreach and advocacy for over 300 companies in 29 sectors committees. He also served as a senior trade officer at the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo. Jakob is widely recognised as the leading government affairs practitioner in Japan, with expertise in a range of policy areas including trade, consumer finance, energy and environment, tourism and others. Jakob is fluent in Japanese, English, and Swedish, and complements degrees in political science and Japanese language with a Masters in International Political Economy from the University of Tsukuba, Japan.

Danny Wang

Senior Consultant

Danny Wang has almost 15 years of policy experience in Taiwan, as a former government official and as a public policy and government affairs consultant.  He started as an official at the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, having directed one of the biggest full-scale legal research projects in Taiwan regarding casino gaming policy and controls, and served as the main government liaison during multidisciplinary discussions and coordination with various stakeholders.

Transitioning from his role in government, Danny led multiple teams as a private-sector consultant, which involved directing strategy to pass Taiwan’s first referendum, offering effective political forecasting and legislative analysis to business executives, leading and navigating complex collaborative projects in the technology and digital industry, transportation, tourism, agricultural trade, biomedicine and pharmaceutical, renewable energy, and nonprofit affairs sectors.

Danny holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Boyd School of Law, and a Master in Public Administration degree from the University of North Carolina MPA@UNC program. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Vivian Law
Vivian Law
Public Policy Manager

Vivian Law is a seasoned international and public affairs specialist. She oversees projects across various sectors, encompassing environment, carbon neutrality, digital economy, and mobility. Prior to joining The GR Company, Vivian worked at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. There she contributed to multilateral cooperation and the development of public-private partnerships, working as project manager for business delegations led by senior Hong Kong government officials to Southeast Asia, Europe and the Middle East. She also facilitated policy processes, serving as the secretariat for overseas business chambers and administrator for a range of industry advisory committees.

Vivian holds a first class honours degree in Social Science (BSS) from the University of Hong Kong and was offered the Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in Global Environmental Studies at Kyoto University. Native in Cantonese, she is also fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.

Wei Hsuan Liao
Associate Manager

Wei Hsuan Liao has nearly ten years of experience in public policy and government affairs, specializing in policy communication and stakeholder coordination. As the Director of Government Affairs at Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan, she actively facilitated cross-sector dialogues among government agencies, industries, and NGOs, driving the implementation of key policies.

She has represented Taiwan in international exchange programs, engaging in in-depth discussions with global think tanks and policymakers to foster international collaboration. She also contributed to advancing cross-border legislative cooperation by supporting the establishment of multiple inter-parliamentary friendship organizations, strengthening policy dialogue and cooperation mechanisms.

Wei Hsuan Liao holds a degree in Political Science from Soochow University and is fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English. Leveraging her expertise in policy analysis and international coordination, she provides strategic insights to facilitate cooperation and development between Taiwan and the global community.

Dongyin Xu
Dongyin Xu
Associate Manager

Dongyin Xu is primarily responsible for IT, energy, and environment accounts at The GR Company. He has been involved in many policy research reports and outreach projects, particularly in the areas of economic security, offshore wind power and the circular economy. Previously, Dongyin worked for a Tokyo-based international NGO as a humanitarian aid project manager, where he was responsible for the management of multiple humanitarian aid projects, funding-related work and coordination with the Japanese government.

Dongyin holds a BA in International Politics from Aoyama Gakuin University and an MA in War Studies from the Department of War Studies, King's College London. He is a trilingual in Chinese, Japanese, and English.

Jacqueline Collier
Jacqueline Collier
Associate

Jacqueline Collier is an experienced policy researcher with a strong understanding of policy research and policy-making. Since joining The GR Company, she has engaged in research and outreach in the fields of consumer affairs, tourism, entertainment, transportation, and global health.

Prior to joining The GR Company, Jacqueline was a Coordinator for International Relations for the JET Programme, working at the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education, where she liased between foreign teachers and Board of Education.

Jacqueline holds an M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Public Policy and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of South Florida. She has also interned at Academia Sinica in Taipei. She is a native English speaker, fluent in Japanese and proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

Ernest Su
Analyst

Ernest Su is an expert in international affairs and public policy. He had experiences in diplomatic events and government administration, having previously done an internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan. Prior to joining The GR Company, he has worked on EU policy research and analysis at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies in Brussels. At GR Taiwan, he specializes in policy analysis, helping clients navigate Taiwan’s policy and regulatory environment.

Ernest earned a B.A. in Political Science from National Taiwan University, during which he has also studied at King’s College London in the UK and the University of Tübingen in Germany. He later graduated Cum Laude from M.A. in European Studies at KU Leuven in Belgium, where he majored in European External Relations and minored in European History. 

In addition to fluent English and his native Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese, he speaks German, Italian and French.

Lucy Ting
Analyst

Lucy Ting is an analyst well versed in international relations and trade. With extensive research experience at the Institute of Political Science at Academia Sinica, Taiwan, she has focused on political systems and global trade dynamics. Lucy holds a BA and MA in Political Science from National Taiwan University, and was awarded the Scholarship from the Czech government to conduct political and economic analysis of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the complex cross-strait relations.

Fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English, Lucy provides in-depth insights into global political and economic trends across diverse cultural contexts.
